Impact Indicators
Studies in hospitality show that stronger community isn´t just “nice to have”, it has measurable business outcomes:
- Acquisition: Strong word-of-mouth lowers acquisition costs and improves reputation.
- Retention: Members are more likely to extend their stay when they feel connected.
- Maintenance: Engaged members show a higher sense of ownership, reducing damage and complaints.
- Events: When Residents feel invested, they start creating their own events, lowering costs.
- Brand Value: Community is often a core part of a coliving brand promise, a strong community allows operators to charge premium rates.
My goal is not only to design initiatives that strengthen the community, but also to collaborate with operators in monitoring how these initiatives impact their key metrics. By taking an iterative approach, we can test what works best in your specific context and adjust accordingly.
Why Work With a Psychologist?
Most people associate psychology with therapy or clinical psychology, but that's only one part of the field. In reality, psychology has many branches that are directly relevant to coliving:
- Social & Community Psychology: insights into group dynamics, belonging, and how communities thrive
- Organizational Psychology: applying systems thinking to how teams and communities function as a whole
- Personality Psychology: understanding traits that shape how members interact and what make them a good fit for your space
- Environmental & Architectural Psychology: how space design influences social interaction
- Positive Psychology: going beyond preventing conflict to fostering happiness, engagement and thriving communities

My Why
My first experience with shared living was in a 11-person student flatshare in the Netherlands, and it was one of the happiest times of my life.
Coming out of a difficult period, I felt myself flourish in a way I hadn't before. What I discovered there was something I hadn´t even realized I was missing: the power of living in a community.
As a young professional, I searched for ways to keep this sense of connection alive. I explored eco-villages and communes, but they felt too alternative for me. I wanted something more urban, more professional, and at the same time as enriching as student housing, and that´s when I discovered coliving.
I immediately knew: this is it. Coliving is not just a housing model; it´s a solution for many challenges of our time. I became passionate not only about living in a coliving space myself, but also about using my experience as a psychologist to help strengthen them, so more people can experience the same sense of belonging and happiness that I did.
